Hello, here I am on deviantart. Artemisia Gentileschi is my favourite painter because of the beauty and pathos of them. I especially love "A Potrait of A Women Playing the Lute". She's practicing on her lute, sure, but she gives the viewer a direct, sorrowful glance, as if while she loves practicing her art, she's also sad about something. You could see it as her excorcising demons by music, or you could say that her art itself as caused her pain, because of massive amounts of self-doubt. Perhaps she's been fired from a job for not being good enough. Anyway. I shall post photgraphs and of course favourite lovely artwork.
